Metastases

A number of metastatic tumors within both hemispheres.

Metastases: Metastasis occurs when blood-borne tumor cells from tumors in other sites infiltrate the CNS. The most common primary sources of CNS metastatic tumors are the lungs, breast, and skin (melanoma). Most lodge at the junction of the cortex and white matter. The cells then grow, proliferate and develop into tumors.
